Jang Keun Suk, a popular Korean actor, has attracted much attention when he was chosen as a cover model for Men’s Non-No, Japan’s famous fashion magazine. It is the first time that a Korean celebrity’s face is on the cover of the magazine.
The pictorial shooting was held in southern Seoul, during which he gave off a wide range of his charms, changing outfits of different types more than five times. He’s expected to show off diverse charms through the photos by transforming himself into several characters from a strong, masculine guy to a bright boy with genial smiles, and to a gracefully beautiful person who blurs the lines between men and women.

28 June 2011 – Korean actor-cum-singer Jang Keun Suk had his first official photo-book “The Romance JPlus Photograph Collection” press conference on 28 June at Yokohama, and the public sale date starts from 27 July. Besides 500 eels in attendance, there was a record number of more than 400 media reporters attending.
JKS is honoured by the release of his first photo-book. “Rather than exhibiting a handsome or beautiful appearance, the main theme is what I’m like in my private life.”
Before the press conference, JKS visited the photo-book exhibition at Sogo Yokohama. “I wrote many messages there. Please be happy in looking for them, such as ‘You’re permitted to look at only me’!” Being his usual humorous self, JKS blew kisses at fans in between questions, generating lots of screaming.
In response to a request from a TV reporter, JKS performed a “shuffle” dance on the spot (both hands and legs in irregular vibration before coming together), showing his friendly side.
There were nearly 1,000 fans at the airport to welcome him. His sky-rocketing popularity meant that JKS could no longer go out to have a meal or a walk whenever he liked; this has made him feel sad and helpless.

Under everyone’s gaze, JKS waved as he skipped into the venue. Some of what JKS said at the press conference:
“Yesterday, many people came (to the airport) to greet me. I was worried that accidents might occur, but luckily everyone is all right. At the photo-book exhibition, I wrote this message in many places – ‘I only permit you to look at me’. Everyone can see if they can find it. Hope that everyone will be happy when viewing the exihibition.”
In fluent Japanese, “Fans are like real eels. They make me feel touched and motivated… grilled eels!!” Everyone laughed.
JKS’ concert starts amidst typhoon, claims in excitement that Taiwanese eels are his “wives”
25 June 2011 – Amidst his busy filming schedule, Jang Keun Suk still travelled to 5 Asian cities for his Asia Tour, and now is in Taiwan for the 3rd time to hold his concert. As usual, his parents accompanied JKS on the trip.
On 24 June at Taipei University Stadium, fans’ screams nearly lifted the roof as they danced and waved their lightsticks along to the music! After singing his debut single “Let me cry”, JKS greeted fans in Chinese, saying “Hello Taiwan! I miss you all very much!”
Despite an impending typhoon, fans had braved the rain to queue to enter the venue. JKS was very sweet in saying to fans, “I saw you all outside the window in the rain. My heart aches, so I want to put up a perfect performance. I love you all very much!”
Because there were some fans at the airport on 23 June dressed as brides, JKS also said at the concert, “Last year, I received many of your “promises”. This time, before I came here, I especially took a look at it.”
He also warned his fans laughingly, “All the fans here are my brides, this lifetime all of you cannot betray your promise to me! If you betray me, you’re dead!” All the fans screamed frenetically in response!
Yahoo News – Popular Korean star Jang Keun Suk’s fan-meeting becomes a talk show cum concert! On 24 June, “JKS The Cri Show” was held at Taipei University Stadium, attracting nearly 4,000 fans. Including the encore, he sang 10 songs in total; it was more like a mini-concert. As for the book that (Taiwanese) fans gave him previously which contained their promises to support him forever, JKS said that he looked through the book once before boarding the plane, and even warned the fans, “If you dare to betray me, you’ll get it!”
His 3rd time in Taiwan, the contents of his 3 performances were different. At the start, JKS sang his Japanese debut single “Let me cry”, igniting the atmosphere. Besides singing, lucky fans were selected for interaction on stage. Together with classic lines from “Marry me Mary” and “You are Beautiful”, snapshots from JKS’ photo-book were shown, making this performance rich in contents. In consideration of the fans who sat on the second floor, JKS walked around the venue, nearly causing a riot.
There will be 2 consecutive shows at Taipei University Stadium, the second one on 25 June. Besides Taiwanese fans, there were many fans from Japan too. JKS is scheduled to depart Taiwan on 26 June at 1.20 pm via KE 692.

Korean star Jang Keun Suk who rose to popularity throughout Asia based on drama “You are Beautiful” arrived in Taiwan today at 12 noon via flight KE 691. More than 300 fans crowded at Taoyuan Airport to welcome him, filling the air with their screams and even needing police security to maintain orderliness. Of special mention is that there were around 20 fans who were dressed in wedding gown and shouted that they want to marry JKS.
Today 4 pm at Grand Formosa Regent Taipei where JKS is staying at, a press conference will be held.
On 24 June at 7.30 pm and 25 June at 7 pm, JKS will meet fans at Taipei University Auditorium.

以韩剧《原来是美男》红遍亚洲的韩国男星张根硕，今搭乘KE691於中午12点3度登「台」，吸引300多位粉丝到场接机，把桃园机场挤到水泄不通，现场尖叫声不绝於耳，还必须出动警力维持秩序。特别的是，今天有20多名粉丝穿婚纱到场迎接偶像，大喊要嫁给张根硕。
张根硕来台，今天下午4时将在下榻的晶华酒店举办记者会，明、后天分别於晚上7时30分及7时，在台大体育馆和影迷相见欢。

Japan is now clasping JKS in its hands

Reputed Japanese magazine “AERA” has a special report entitled “Whether JKS has surpassed Bae Yong-jun”, which analyzes JKS’ high popularity in Japan at a deeper level.
According to the magazine, not only does JKS have fans in their 40s and above who have experienced the earlier Hallyu wave, he also has young fans in their teens and 20s, and seems to have surpassed Bae Yong-jun (BYJ) who has been at the forefront of the Hallyu wave since 2004.
Based on dramas such as “You are Beautiful” (YAB) and “Marry me Mary” (M3) which aired in Japan, JKS has accumulated extremely high popularity, and YAB even set the record of having been broadcast 3 times on Japan television. Already quite well-known from his earlier roles such as “Hwang Jin-yi”, JKS’ frequent activities have resulted in him becoming the most popular new-generation Hallyu star in Japan.
