Very happy news that JKS will be starring as the male lead in renowned director Seok-ho Yun’s new drama “Love in the Rain” (literally translated title) slated to be broadcast early next year!
With well-known works such as “Winter Sonata” under director Yun’s belt, this is surely a quality drama to look forward to, and hopefully will showcase JKS’ acting talent to the maximum and give a further boost to his career!

  1. so glad to here he has a new project coming up. Fighting Sukkie. We all support you and looking forward to it. I had been some saying before that he will do it, it was mentioned to his previous interview, but he didn’t give any sure or yes answer to it. Now I am happy that he accept the role. Thanks Aphrael.

      • Qqeyes,u want to mk me cry again before d new drama out ….poor Prince :’-(

      • Carol, I have a love-hate feeling when seeing Sukkie’s cry in drama.. he is so good in acting sad scene that I will feel sad with the role he plays but at the same time, I love to see his good acting skill each time as he cried differently in each drama to fit the role.. I believe his new drama with more crying or sad scenes will made 3 generations of ladies stick to the TV.. for sure the rating will be high ^_^

  3. I just hope the PD will have a fresh genre to this drama. I would love to see Suk take a challenging role cos I am confident he can carry it off but please don’t make it a tragic ending… I can’t help wondering if Suk can land a juicy action role like City Hunter (just for a change)

    • Farina, I actually watched only first few ep of “City Hunter” but couldn’t continue further as I started to imagine Sukkie in the role & I still remember his tongue sticking action in SMAPxSMAP with the gun.. I think if he is an secret agent with that action, he don’t need the gun.. whoever he want to shoot will be “Mero Mero” instead ^_^

  4. I agree with you Farina. I think suk can do it. I hope he will get the chance to do something that different whether in this drama or after it.
JKS is the kind who can do whatever he puts his mind in to.

  5. Sorry for double posting , but I remembered JKS saying in an interview that he has been casted for new drama and that it’s going to be fun working on it. So hope to see something new.

    • Ya, I remember he said that. I thought “fun” would mean something more light-hearted, but director Yun is not known for light-hearted drama, right ….. just hope it’s not too tragic or heavy!

    • by the way, is the title confirmed “Singing in the rain”? …. going by the Chinese title, I thought it’s “Love in the Rain”

      • I don’t think it’s a fixed title yet. I’ve heard that the script is still in progress so the title can change.
I think what suk meant with “fun” is something new. Which he will have fun challenging. We all know that sukkie finds lots of fun in a challenge. I will pray for it’s huge success from now.
Let’s see if we can get more info about the story on Wednesday.

      • i hope the title is “singing in the rain” -> the impression is more romantic & happy end, are we going to see suk singing in the rain with umbrella here? ^^
“love in the rain” -> romantic n mellow drama, maybe the end is sad end?

  8. When I heard about director Soek-ho Yun’s new project few months ago, I had a feeling JKS would be the male lead and I was right. I’m so happy. The drama will be broadcast next year so I hope he’ll take time to rest before starting it.
Director Soek-Ho yun was known for his tragic dramas. I hope this one won’t be too tragic. I don’t know if I can bear to see tears on JKS’s gorgeous face, watching him cry is one of the most heartbreaking things for me, just thinking of it broke my heart already. 🙁

  10. JKS is going to perform a double role of father and son…totally different characters…It’s really challenging…I guess that’s the reason JKS chose the role. The director believe that only JKS can play this challenging role. So from the very beginning of his project, the direct put a lot of efforts to get JKS’s Ok~ I’m really looking forward to seeing him on big Television~!!!!!!!!!!

      • I believe Sukkie can perform the 2 roles of different personality in different generation very well as he is so versatile & good in acting, really looking forward to this drama ^_^ (personally, I feel he is the only actor suited for this challenging roles…)

  11. Ohh mi…Ohh mi… I have been waiting to hear this GREAT news for a long time. I cannot wait for this drama…..need to practice being patient that what I told myself (don’t know how that would work). Just to hear about his new drama already make me so excited and smile with joy. I miss him in Drama sooooo much. I don’t care what kind of this new drama will be – melodrama or musical or out of this world role. I’ll watch anything and everything our Sukkie is in it, especially a leading role… supper fantastic.

PS. I cannot even count now how many times I re-watched his old dramas and movies – that how bad I’m addicted to him.

  12. Sorry out of topic..Tenshi i heard form my friend unpleasant news, that’s in japan has been anti Hallyu Star demonstration, it is true?? can you explained..i’m so worried, i hope it doesn’t affected with Suk event in japan such as MMM fm & japan arena tour.. THANKS

    Reply
    • Cherry, yes, it’s true… In Japan so many Hallyu and K-POP stars are introduced on TV everyday. I mean they are sometimes seen more than Japanese stars. So some Japanese (anti Korean culture including Hallyu Stars) complain that it is too strange about the fact they are so much introduced. They thought it happened because of some business shady relationships. Several days ago a Japanese actor claimed about a particular TV station that they were like Korean TV station, not Japanese one. I supposed that he wanted to cheer up Japanese entertainment world, but contrary to his intention his saying cheered up anti Korean people to conduct a demonstration… Anyway, those who joined the demonstration don’t know well about Korean entertainment at all. They just complain thoughtlessly. So they complain about JKS just because he is a Korean star. But most Japanese Hallyu fans don’t care about that. Because the complainer don’t try to understand why Hallyu dramas are so popular among Japanese and other countries. We all know that the quality of Korean entertainment is well-trained and we should learn something from them. So Cherry, don’t worry about it too much. I’m sure Sukkie’s event will become a big success ^^

      • Tenshi-san! ^____^ I am truly happy with this news. I missed him in dramas so much even though I watched his dramas over and over I still wanted him to do something new.
it gives me something to look forward to.Since I can’t watch any drama that he’s not in it. I tried I swear but couldn’t do it.
from the bottom of my heart , I hope this drama will get the highest ratings of all times!

  13. kailey, me too, I can’t count how many times I watched his dramas and movies. If I have a chance I could watch 24/7 and never get bored! Do you think we need a rehab?
The problem is : I don’t want to be cured, do you?

  14. Hey guys, I have read that the drama will require Keun Suk to act in two roles: first as the father character in the 70s and then as the son in the present. Both exploring their loves and lives in two different eras. Also the title may actually read “Love rides through the rain.” In that case, then maybe it won’t be as “sad” as we think because love conquers all and eventually everything will work out well! Hopefully the drama will end with a happy ending having rainbows after the rain. I positively will WEEP like the wet monsoons if Keun Suk’s characters get hurt, die or can’t be with the one he loves. Prince Chang Hwe in Hong Gil Dong is already as much as my heart could possibly take to see him suffering! Will watch any and every thing with Keun Suk in it. So please, please, please don’t let him be hurting, dying or being left alone in the new drama, pleease!!!

    • I think may be since he is playing 2 roles, one may be a sad ending & the other a good ending… possible? If both sad ending… sure we can’t take it ^_^

      • Carol, I think “the father character in the 70s” means he plays the role in 1970s (the father’s young age), so I don’t think Sukkie plays the role of the elderly father at the age of 70s.

    • You are right! I missed him so much too. Not seeing him in a drama. This will definitely be a very different role for him. OMG. I hope it will really not that much heartbreaking…it might be too much, i can’t take it! winter sonatas usu are like that right? I actually don’t watch them because they just make me feel sad but since I love JKS it will really be very interesting to see him in this role. I just hope they won’t make it too much of a heartbreak. We really should be preparing for lots of crying/tears here. anyway, I’m still so excited to see him again in a drama! Really can’t wait. thank you for the news! 🙂
