The GCMA has an environmentally green theme this year, which accounts for the “green” carpet, the bamboo backdrop on which celebrities pen their signature and the green ribbon that each celebrity wears on their attire. Even the Awards are organised in an open-style concept of a “bamboo forest party”.

Jang Keun Suk appeared on the green carpet at around 5.56 pm China time, which was much earlier than I expected him to. It seems like the other artistes take a long time to walk down that stretch of carpet, but JKS seems to finish that walk in such a short time! He introduced himself in Chinese and completed his greeting in English. It is a pity that some of the other celebrities get asked interesting questions by the emcees, and I was looking forward to how JKS would display his wit and humour in answering questions, but the emcees didn’t ask him anything! Language barrier, I suppose?

JKS at Incheon Airport

Despite HS Media, Tree-J and Jang Keun Suk not releasing his flight details, eels got wind of JKS’ flight details on 14 April 2011, departing Incheon airport at 20:00 hours and reaching Chengdu, China at 22:50 hours. Chinese eels headed excitedly for ShuangLiu Airport from as early as noon.

Unfortunately, the eels didn’t have an easy time at the airport, because there were fans of 3 other Chinese artistes there, so the situation was a bit chaotic with lots of cheering and shouts. JKS exited the airport in a record 10 seconds and most eels didn’t even manage to catch a glimpse of JKS…

The latest news is that JKS has GCMA rehearsal throughout the night.

Hong Kong “Sun” – “You are Beautiful” star Jang Keun Suk, who has just attended an autograph session as mobile phone brand ambassador in Seoul yesterday, will be having a fan-meeting in Kowloon Hong Kong on 30 April. Tickets are priced at HK$1,280 and HK$580. Spending about 4 days in Hong Kong, JKS will arrive on 28 April afternoon, hold a press conference at APM on 29 April and on 30 April, JKS will be attending an autograph session at APM for fan-meeting VIP ticket-holders.

In order to welcome their idol, the Hong Kong fans paid around HK$30,000 to buy advertisement space on 12 buses for his fan-meeting , and have also initiated a charity fund-raising event in aid of the Japanese earthquake victims. All the charity proceeds will be donated via Hong Kong Red Cross in Jang Keun Suk’s name.

The 15th Global Chinese Music Awards will be broadcast live on these television stations: Star TV (China), Sze-chuan TV, Channel V, Chengdu TV (combined channel), Chengdu TV (movie & arts channel) and Hong Kong’s Asia TV.

On 15 April 2011, the red carpet starts at 7.00 pm (China time) and the Awards commence at 8.00 pm.
Various media such as Sina and TengXun Entertainment will have text and pictures live broadcast.

I have cable television at home, but being a technical / gadget idiot, I have no idea what channels I have (I don’t even know how to switch on the TV in the living room, can’t see any button T.T )…. Will go and puzzle it out later. Hopefully a few videos should come out on the internet, but I cannot wait to see Jang Keun Suk on the red carpet!! I think he’ll look fabulous and absolutely charming, and please, please don’t wear anything strange …. the Awards is broadcast on so many TV stations, the whole of China (several billion people, I should think) and other Asian countries are watching….please don’t wear anything strange * worries * Eels may be able to accept outlandish fashion, but hard to say for the general public …..

SUPER exciting news – Jang Keun Suk is attending the 15th Global Chinese Music (Asian Influence) Awards (“GCMA” – rough translation), organised by Channel V and held in Chengdu, China on 15 April 2011.

JKS is finally sending a strong indicator that he is officially starting his foray into the Chinese market. I have to hand it to JKS and Tree-J – I think they are doing a wonderful job to advance JKS’ career not only in Korea, but also in the region.

Under the “Asian & Europe Stars” category, JKS is nominated for “The most popular Asian Influential Korean Artist” award, together with Lee Min-ho, Kim Hyun Joon and Hyun Bin. JKS may also be performing at the GCMA.

After days of unsuccessful search in London by JKS eels for JKS, Jang Keun Suk has been spotted on Sunday 20 March on a photograph shoot on the streets of London by someone who isn’t a fan but is kind enough to alert eels to JKS’ whereabouts and even uploaded a map of his exact shooting location (see map below, though unfortunately he may not be there today).

According to Sukbar news on Sina, Japanese entertainment news say that Jang Keun Suk’s movie “You’re my Pet” will be filmed in Ibaraki according to the original, planned schedule. Hopefully, this will contribute to the re-building of Ibaraki to some extent.
