16 Dec – According to KBS news, KBS will air a New Year feature “Star Documentary – Centre of New Hallyu Centre, I am Jang Keun Suk” on 1 January 2012 at 9.35 pm Korean time.

This documentary will introduce Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk during his Japan concert tour. KBS said, “The documentary captures actor Jang Keun Suk who has created Hallyu history after Bae Yong-joon, and his real-life stories such as the process of his transition from childhood actor to Hallyu star, the secret of his success in Japan and the 25 year-old youth JKS behind the stage.”

On 15 Dec at the 19th Korean Culture & Arts Awards (rough translation) held in Seoul, Jang Keun Suk and Girls Generation were awarded the Hallyu Star award. This award ceremony aims to recognise artists (and artistes) who are active in various cultural aspects and lead in cultural development.

Based on SBS drama “You are Beautiful”, JKS gained overwhelming popularity in Japan and hence became the new Hallyu lead.

Actor Jang Keun Suk admits that his commercial asking fee in Japan is higher than Bae Yong-joon.

At a recent media interview, in response to comments of him replacing Bae Yong-joon as the next-generation Hallyu King, JKS replied frankly and modestly, “Senior Bae and I are totally different, and hence totally no basis for comparison. He is dragon, and I’m now only a newly hatched chicken trying hard to grow up.”

JKS admits the fact that his CF asking fee has exceeded BYJ, but he adds, “Using only the CF asking fee as a judgment criterion is not reasonable. The glory of Senior Bae’s achievements is unsurpassable.”

JKS’ CF asking fee is currently the highest amongst Hallyu stars, and has reached 90,000,000 yen.

JYJ member Kim Joon-su and actor Jang Keun Suk will participate in “2011 Third Asia Jewellery Ceremony” held on 6th next month, 6 pm at InterContinental Hotel Seoul and organised by active Korean jeweller Mucha and its representative Kim Jeong-ju.

Attention is focused on artistes appearing at the event such as Jang Keun Suk, Kim Joon-su, T-ara, MBLAQ, Hwang Jeong Eum, No Min-woo and others.

The event is based on the theme “Shining Love, Sharing Love”, and on exhibition are jewellery pieces designed by representative Kim Jeong-ju and which have appeared in many dramas and musicals such as Lie to Me, You are Beautiful, Protect the Boss, My Girlfriend is a Gumiho and My Princess.

After the jewellery show, Mucha, Kim Joon-su and JKS together with other artistes will carry out the charity jewellery auction. All proceeds will go to UNICEF.
