In the drama, he acts the role of a 100% innocent and outstanding Arts college student in the 1970s, and also the role of a modern commercial photographer Seo Jun who has a cool exterior and a passionate personality.

[News] JKS furious at illegal “You’re my Pet” videos on internet

6333173999_cc454e8124
Movie “You’re my Pet” (YMP) has just shown in cinemas on 10 Nov but its pirated video is already circulating fast on the internet., including video clips of JKS and the OSTs he sang in the movie. The movie will air in Japan next year, and the pirated videos infringe on the rights of the consumer.

JKS said angrily, “The movie that we have worked hard and with passion for 5 months to produce is spread via illegal recording means; it’s really impossible to remain calm. What is the telephone number of the internet enforcers?”

The production company is also very concerned. “We hope that everyone will go to the cinema to enjoy the happiness of YMP. Illegal audio (and video) files are absolutely not permitted. Please immediately delete the illegal files uploaded onto the internet. For those who downloaded the files, please do not continue to circulate it on the internet. This is an action that seriously violates the production’s legal rights. Eels should take the lead in observing the law.”

YMP is adapted from Japanese manga and narrates the amazing cohabitation story of a domineering woman Ji-eun, who has beauty, figure and capability but does not know love, and her pretty-boy pet Kang In-ho (JKS).

Aphrael77’s Note:

For eels, and if you care about JKS, please do not upload or circulate any of JKS’ official works in the initial and important period when it is first launched, in particular, the movie “You’re my Pet” and also “Budapest Diary”. Please do not share Youtube or other website links etc etc.

We should show by our action that we support JKS, either by watching his movie in the cinema or buying his official products. For most of us not in Japan, Korea or China (midst of negotiations for airing schedule), let’s wait patiently for the official DVD.

Let us respect the copyright laws and protect the interests of JKS. Thanks!

[Reporter’s Note] Jang Keun Suk, please let us see more of your pretentious style!

————————– Aphrael77’s Note ————————–

Before the translated article, I’d like to explain the negative JKS’ nickname which marred his reputation and artiste career. I understand it but its meaning is a bit harder to translate into concise English (where I feel my lack of vocabulary keenly). If I still translate it wrongly, please feel free to correct me.

허세 (ho-sei)
虚势

I think it means a false outward appearance (or gestures/actions) where one pretends to know more and be more than what one actually is. For lack of a better phrase, I shall term it as “pretentious style” in this translation.

We know the history of his nickname, and the purpose of posting this translation is not for us to keep on throwing eggs at all the people who have caused hurt to JKS before (even if we feel like doing it ^^), but rather, articles like this coming from the Korean media and hopefully reaching more of the Korean general public may have more far-reaching influence and serve as an initial step to change their perspective of our beloved JKS. We cannot expect a total absence of criticisms and misunderstandings, which may still happen where JKS’ unique frankness and confidence clash with Korean society and culture; but what we can do is to continue to show full support for our Prince.

[Reporter’s Note] Jang Keun Suk, please let us see more of your pretentious style!

Jang Keun Suk acts as usual without any misgivings. His confidence once labelled as “pretentious” has now become a new embellishment for his ambition to be the Prince of Asia, as said at the 2 November “You’re my Pet” press conference. In the movie, he acts as a promising ballet dancer Kang In-ho who crosses over to become a musical actor.

“Am I an actor, singer or dancer? This is a movie about finding one’s true self. Indeed, the Prince of Asia is not a role that can be assumed casually,” JKS compliments himself. Although it made people laugh, his (offensive) forthrightness and liberal spirit came across strongly.

[News] JKS: What is seen and what is not seen both exist

5933040113_6d22b09cdf_b
12 July 2011 – Popular Korean star Jang Keun Suk was in Hang-zhou two days ago for the recording of Zhe-jiang TV’s “I love memorizing lyrics”. When asked about the unstated Korean showbiz rules, JKS said tactfully, “What is seen and what is not seen both exist.”

With a planned album release in China in the later half of this year, JKS hopes that he can have a chance to study Chinese in Shanghai. Compared to other Korean artistes entering the Chinese market and participating in the filming of movies and dramas, JKS is different in that he is more cautious. “I feel that language communication is now my greatest obstacle.”

Always having been labelled as a “flower-pretty boy”, JKS expressed his wish to

It’s about my business trip last weekend.
Departure from Haneda Airport, Saturday night.
The fare to Seoul is lower than that to my hometown, Kagoshima. So I just packed my things into a tote bag as if I was going to a domestic trip? No… because I had to take some equipment and clothes for this shooting trip. After 2 hours flight, I landed at Gimpo Airport. This is the hotel (JW Marriott Hotel Seoul) where I stayed.

Despite of the dead of night, I had a meal.
To a Samgyetang shop that is open 24 hours a day.
