On 19 Dec afternoon, Jang Keun Suk attended the ceremony at Hanyang University, together with his parents, to mark the establishment of his scholarship, to which he has donated 1,200 million won.
The “Jang Keun Suk” scholarship starts from March 2012 and can sponsor 20 students in the Theatre & Movies course who have excellent results and come from financially disadvantaged background.

[News] KBS airs Jang Keun Suk documentary on 1 Jan 2012

16 Dec – According to KBS news, KBS will air a New Year feature “Star Documentary – Centre of New Hallyu Centre, I am Jang Keun Suk” on 1 January 2012 at 9.35 pm Korean time.
This documentary will introduce Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk during his Japan concert tour. KBS said, “The documentary captures actor Jang Keun Suk who has created Hallyu history after Bae Yong-joon, and his real-life stories such as the process of his transition from childhood actor to Hallyu star, the secret of his success in Japan and the 25 year-old youth JKS behind the stage.”

On 15 Dec at the 19th Korean Culture & Arts Awards (rough translation) held in Seoul, Jang Keun Suk and Girls Generation were awarded the Hallyu Star award. This award ceremony aims to recognise artists (and artistes) who are active in various cultural aspects and lead in cultural development.
Based on SBS drama “You are Beautiful”, JKS gained overwhelming popularity in Japan and hence became the new Hallyu lead.
