On 15 Dec at the 19th Korean Culture & Arts Awards (rough translation) held in Seoul, Jang Keun Suk and Girls Generation were awarded the Hallyu Star award. This award ceremony aims to recognise artists (and artistes) who are active in various cultural aspects and lead in cultural development.
Based on SBS drama “You are Beautiful”, JKS gained overwhelming popularity in Japan and hence became the new Hallyu lead.

Despite his busy schedule, university student Jang Keun Suk completed his end-of-semester examinations. New Hallyu star JKS, no matter whether in Korea or Japan, has a fully packed schedule every day, and especially busy with the filming of drama Love Rain, and in the midst of it all, he also faced his end-of-semester examinations steadfastly.
On 13 Dec after the end of his exams, he threw himself with equal passion into Love Rain’s media panel discussion at Dae-gu Children’s Theatre. In consideration of JKS’ situation, the production side arranged their schedule flexibly. A source says that JKS has been very busy because of his exams, so the drama production side has been considerate in adjusting the schedule.

On 13 Dec afternoon, Jang Keun Suk attended Love Rain’s media panel discussion held at Dae-du’s Children Theatre. He said that he “felt very honoured to be able to work together with very senior director Yun Seok-ho”.
Demonstrating his respect for the director, JKS said, “The director gave me a new character in my life, he is a mentor in my life.”
Seated next to the director, JKS enlivened the atmosphere by making mischievous facial expressions and joking.
