Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share my view of episode 7.. I have seen this episode firstly on KBS LIVE on mobile without sub and then with sub (my usual ritual for Sukkie’s drama only).
One difference I notice is that for first 4 episodes, I can feel In Ha’s inner feeling on love better without sub even when he is alone or narrating… but for Seo Joon, I somehow only feel him when he is with Hana having their bickering time which gets more intense towards the end. Though this episode is considered a bit “heavy” for my heart for In Ha’s reunion with Hana’s mum and also Seo Joon’s disappointment with his parents but thanks to Seo Joon & Hana, I feel more light hearted watching their bickering.
Seo Joon has been self denying his inner feeling for Hana and he has been in state of confusion about his own feeling for Hana from first meeting in Hokkaido till this episode. In fact a few occasion, I hope I can knock lightly on his head & whisper to him to tell him he is in love with Hana but I can’t! ^_^
When Hana finds out her senior has been engaged, I quietly whisper again to Seo Joon.. you better grab the opportunity or else no more chance!!! lol!
On the other hand, his dad In Ha knows his inner feeling from the very first 3 seconds of meeting with Hana’s mum though he too has initially gone through self denying stage when he sacrifices his love for friendship. Seo Joon however needs more time to discover that he actually has special feeling for Hana, in this aspect, I find the
digital generaton’s Seo Joon is very “slow” in expressing himself compared to his dad as he is hindered by his own ego, but with 16 episodes for the digital generation to develop the love story, I find it is intentional by the script writer to develop the love story of Seo Joon & Hana at a more fun but slower pace.
One turning point in this drama is found in this episode 7, that is what I would call “restart” of the relationship of both digital & analog couples at perfect same moment in LOVE RAIN! It is very touching to see how In Ha running after & following Hana’s mum in the rain and finally greetings under the yellow umbrella… the same moment with Seo Joon & Hana (in yellow jacket) finding shelter under the tent with Seo Joon proposing to restart their relationship on better terms! amazing coincidence along with the concurrent phone calls made by In Ha & Hana’s mum to their children. PD Yoon has done a great job here creating such a magical feeling. Also, I find the senior actor/actress have done a great job playng the roles of the parents of the digital generation.
Finally… sharing some other interesting observation.. the sponsors of the drama has also made themselves known so far in the drama itself, not via advertisement.. both Samsung & Canon! Sukkie’s role as Seo Joon has made the Canon camera looks so hot and also the way he holds the Samsung Galaxy Note definitely made these gadgets looks
trendy!
Sukkie’s personal super “S” & professional characteristics is showing so much in Seo Joon since the digital generation started since Ep5 but I got a strong feeling the other side of his cute & romantic characteristics may be showing up more and more in Seo Joon and also as mentioned earlier. Also, I’m impressed with Yoona’s performance so far as she appears as a charming and natural actress as praised by Sukkie before in earlier interview. (Sukkie is blood type A so when he said someone is good, I believe him ^_^)
… but do prepare for surprises as PD Yoon may give us heart attack when we are indulged in the couple’s sweet romance
Thanks QQ for your review 🙂 The script writer certainly has a cute but cutting way with that butterfly & duck argument lol! I enjoy their bickering so much I keep rewatching those scenes!
ya but the BIG hole in the argument is people have human rights and thus not in the same category as butterfly n ducks LOL. Seo Jun is aware of that, he’s very concerned about keeping up his cool (and cold) image, so he refused to help Hana outright, but immediately after that he goes to reason with his client.
mm…. how to describe this kind of character? ^^
I’ve learnt not to reason too much in k-dramas… 🙂
That’s what I call ‘egoistic’….haha
Bwahahah… he just in denial that he was so attracted to her from the very start…that is Joon’s inate traits from In Ha, trying to deny and admit later on … hahahahah
LOL!!! I really loved the sexy way he played with the model and also how Ha Na was offended!!! Weeeeeeeeeeee and Ha Na`s comical poses as a amateur model WAHAHAHA!!!!! Gosh I think that LR pair Seo Joon and Ha Na have the best chemistry among the many K drama pairings!!! Thanks sis QQ for pointing out the gadgets LOL!! I noticed them but i was more focused on Joon to give them much importance!!! <3 <3 <3 cant wait for the KISS!!!! LOVE RAIN FIGHTING!!!
Hahahaha:-D:-D:-D the next ep it will be more fun!!!
Soe jon hairstyle really make me dying…..lol!!!???
Ms QQ, Thanks for posting your thoughts on EP 7. I really laughed a lot on their bickering about the duck & the butterfly. I think the writers put much importance on the psychological and emotional effect of the child Joon who witnessed the loveless union of the parents, because generally boys are more vulnerable to pain. And it was so evident when Joon cannot withstand when In Ha deliberately spoke of not wanting to go back to his mom. While on the other hand Ha Na is more accepting that her mom is still so attached with the first love. I’m so amused with how the kids are so different with their parents, same with the case of Dong Wook’s son…he seemed more generous and sensitive, cmompletely opposite of the father..As this drama progressed I can already foresee a love square.
Love this review QQ. and I like you said about this ep is about “restart” for two generations’ relationship to each other, great sum up. I cried when they did flashback of young In Ha in Chang Mo’s bar because I miss him so much. As you said, with Jun start kind of realize his feeling to Ha Na, not in this ep, he hasn’t know what it is, but he knows that he thinks of her. As you said, I do believe too that PD Yoon will give some tear trigger through the rest of drama, whenever I see the older generation I am already in the misty eyes because I know their ill fated love will continue. Drama is drama, the great drama will lead us to feel it like we experience with the roles themselves. Thanks.
