Jang Keun-suk opens up about his thyroid cancer diagnosis and new thoughts on marriage in a heartfelt and hilarious episode of My Little Old Boy.
Actor and singer Jang Geun-suk, famously dubbed the “Prince of Asia,” is set to make a heartfelt and humorous appearance on the April 27 episode of SBS’s hit variety show My Little Old Boy. In a deeply candid segment, Jang opened up for the first time about his private battle with thyroid cancer, sharing raw emotions and personal growth with viewers.
“When I was first diagnosed, I questioned, ‘Why is this happening to me?’ I really felt resentful,” he admitted, revealing the emotional impact of the illness. However, he shared that the experience led to a renewed focus on self-care and even noted that he achieved a particular personal goal during that difficult time, leaving the studio curious and impressed.
On a lighter note, Jang revisited a previous statement he made on the show about wanting to become a father before 40. This time, however, he did a full 180, saying, “Now I think I should marry after 40.” His comedic explanation had the entire studio in stitches, with the “Mom Avengers” panel of celebrity moms chiming in supportively: “Yes, that’s how you find your true soulmate!”
The episode also showcased Jang’s signature charm as he playfully flirted with the moms, who couldn’t help but fall for his wit and charisma. Meanwhile, MCs Shin Dong-yup and Seo Jang-hoon hilariously heckled him, adding even more layers of laughter.
As if that weren’t enough, Jang unveiled his extravagant dream wedding plans, even revealing that he already has potential venues in mind. The over-the-top vision prompted Seo Jang-hoon to joke, “At this rate, just book Gocheok Dome for the ceremony,” sending the entire studio into a roar of laughter.
Fans can expect a rollercoaster of emotions, from heartfelt revelations to riotous banter, when the episode airs on April 27.
