On the February 23 episode of JTBC’s variety show “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator,” Jang Geun-suk appeared alongside actress Ha Ji-won.

During the show, he talked about his drinking habits, explaining, “I prefer to enjoy drinking rather than overindulging. I don’t know my exact limit because I’ve never truly been drunk. If I drink too much, I just get a little tired and go to sleep.”

When asked about the most he has ever drunk, Jang Geun-suk recalled an extreme drinking session with broadcaster Choo Sung-hoon. “There was a time when I drank 12 bottles of wine with Choo Sung-hoon in Roppongi. At one point, I saw him swimming in the street, which really shocked me.”

To verify his story, Jang Geun-suk called Choo Sung-hoon during the broadcast. Choo Sung-hoon confirmed, “Yes, I drank a lot of wine and ended up swimming. But I wasn’t alone, there was a friend swimming with me. We had fun, but we weren’t actually moving forward.” He then playfully added, “Honestly, Jang Geun-suk can’t handle alcohol as well as I can.”

Jang Geun-suk, refusing to back down, responded, “I think he just dreamed that part. I saw everything.” Ha Ji-won, observing the exchange, laughed and said, “It seems like he just doesn’t want to admit it.”

Jang Geun-suk also confessed the reason he decided to quit solo drinking. “I was afraid I might end up calling my ex-girlfriend for no reason. Asking, ‘Are you asleep?’ would be weird, wouldn’t it?” However, he insisted, “I don’t see it as a drinking habit, it’s just love that hasn’t ended yet.”

Hearing this, MC Ahn Jung-hwan teased, “You must have made that mistake before, which is why you stopped drinking alone.”
