It may look like Jang Keun Suk has been lying low before his small screen comeback, but his influence across Asia is still strong.
On July 18, Jang Keun Suk amassed 10 million followers on Weibo, the Chinese variation of Twitter.
The actor had opened his Weibo account in August 2011, and soon started gathering a million followers every three months. He is currently the most-followed Korean actor on the service.
His popularity in the country has especially been rising again, as his SBS drama You′re Beautiful, which aired in Korea in 2009, recently aired through China′s CCTV.
With this, You′re Beautiful has managed to take over Japan and Taiwan with remakes and China with its airing.
Jang Keun Suk has already been boasting great popularity in the country, appearing on China′s biggest variety show Happy Camp for his own special and topping ratings charts across the country. He was also the only Korean celebrity to be invited to a year-end concert that features only the biggest Chinese top stars.
This is a great proof, to those who criticized and pinned down, that despite their negative comments about him, there are also millions who love and appreciated him.
