  1. Thanks for sharing sis, episode 6 didn’t only prepare viewers to the new Dae Gil but proved who Jang Keun Suk, the actor, is….love this ep…

    • Yes… When my first seeing episode 6, I was too shocked to see many painful scenes. But my second seeing with English subs, I was prepared and could appreciate his superb acting well.

  2. Thanks for sharing this with us.. This ep is the best ep for me so far.. We can see how Gaed Dong became the strong and fierce Dae Gil. All the painful experiences he had been through made him what he became today. Great acting by actor Jang. I believe his acting here won’t be easily forgotten by the viewers. I just hope Dae Gil won’t to experience the physical abused again.. I don’t know if my heart can take it anymore

  3. Thank you Pam for sparing me pictures and details of that snake scene! I hope this episode is the last Sukkie has to suffer and he will outsmart the whole lot of them especially Lee In Jwa!

    • You´re welcome 😉 I hope the next episode Dae Gil have a better time…because It´s difficult for me see how much he suffer.
Lee In Jwa ¬¬ He deserves the worst for all the bad things he did.

  4. 5 & 6 eps were very painfull for all the eels (And sorry but i also felt very bad for the poor snake) But at the end seeing my handsome daegil chosing gambling rather than beating was the best. Our “dumb Geddong” has now changed into a “witty Daegil”…. I liked Seo Rim a lot and their bonding. Their chemistry rocks even with just few shots but she will be heartache at the end being the 2nd lead. This is actually JKS spell that he makes best couple even with the 2nd leads (in YAB, MMM, LR) as for my personal opinion. Lastly i love my prince more and more for his passion and great acting. Hats off to you my dear.

  5. I think in that times they was very wild about rules , very sadistic .
But I like how DeGil was playing cards with JINWA .
I hope his nice friendship with that girl to be in in the future ,she sad to don`t forget her .
Thank you for sharing with us .

  6. Thank you for the review and I agree with how difficult it is for us eels to see DaeGil go through so much in these past 2 episodes. Another eel -(at Eel’s Family – they are also recapping the episodes – excellently):

recapped Episode 5 and 6 and it is also fabulous – but she explains about how all his escaping death..is really mainly to show that he has a very strong “fate” – and that until he is there to accomplish whatever he is to do…he will survive.

The second thing I want to mention is that during the bath scene in Episode 6, when he is shirtless, look on his upper left chest- yes there is a dark mole/birthmark.

Remember way back when Jang Ok Jung was accusing Baek Man Geum and Choi Suk Bin that they were married and the baby is proof – the 2 baby nurses say that – this child is not Prince Yeon Soo – it is in fact another child – because the child lacks the telltale birthmark on the chest (that Dae Gil has).

  7. I guess in ep 5 and 6, we were challenged to differentiate Sukkie as a person and as an actor. Its really hard though. And its all because his outstanding acting. Thank you Pam..

  8. Thanks for the review, Pam.

I really hope that poor Daegil will no longer suffer any more merciless torture and punishment after Episode 6. What I would like to see soon is some romance to ease the suffocating intensity thus far.

I read somewhere that the slave girl, Gye Seol Im, later succeeds in becoming a sought-after gisaeng. She will be in a complicated loveline with Daegil. Hmmm..is there going to be a love triangle between Daegil, Dam Seo and Seol Im? Can’t wait to find out.

I like Seo Rim for Dae Gil :3 and
I really want to see him become the “Dae Gil” of the first Episode. I know he has a lot to learn but I can’t wait for that!

  10. Well, ya, these two episodes were really tough, but it was the first time I felt that there was no longer Sukkie but the character. His acting was so good, God, it’s such a long time since I dreamt seeing Sukkie acting like this. He was into the character so well, no, in fact he was Dae-Gil and I was so drawn into the story as if I was Dae-Gil, feeling all that pain and hate that at the end I found myself trembling and screaming “Cut damn his hand off! Why are you hesitating?”. I was trembling, I was sweating because, ya, I have to admit, that movie is soooo good, the scenario is excellent and the acting is superb. The scenes are well linked with each other and the story flows smoothly, without interruptions in a logic manner, ensuring thus increased interest in the viewer for what would be next. No matter how much you squeeze your brain to guess the next scene, you simply can’t anticipate it, but you’re dying of impatience to see the next episode. And that is for me, the definition of a good movie. When everything (actors, scenario, producer, etc) is well set up to keep my interest high throughout all the movie. Fighting, keep up the good work!!!
