Actor Jang Keun Suk visited The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) as a director and had a significant meeting with the audience.
On last 26th (July) director Jang Keun Suk and actor No Hyeong Wuk from the movie “The Great Legacy”, Lee Namkang, the director of the movie “Fake funeral”, actors Kim Young Sun and Nam Song Wuk attended “Fantastic short movies 11” talk at Bucheon City Hall Main Theater, and got a big cheer from the audience.
Especially Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk, who attended the festival as a director and not as an actor, attracted enormous attention from media and audience.
Jang Keun Suk´s second short movie “The Great Legacy” that was shown at the 20th Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival is a story about a careless son obsessed only with a bank account that his father left him before he went into coma.
Jang Keun Suk said: “I wanted to tell a story about lack of communication with this movie. It´s an honor to be invited to The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival that has a 20-year history. I will make every effort to do a good work in the future.”
“The advantage of a short movie is that a director can present easily in a brief moment a desired story. If many people who are interested in short movies could have opportunity to have a good time at festivals like The Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, I believe that many more directors would freely express their stories (through short movies)”, he said.
“I have been invited to the festival as a director, not as an actor, and that made this day unforgettable to me. From now on I will feel responsible to be more prudent and cherish the work even more when I make a movie”, he added and got applause.
When he was asked about plans for the next work, he said: “It will be a movie that will have a lot of questions until the very end. It will be the questions from the start (of the movie), and a powerful strike that will blow away the room at the end. I want to make that kind of exciting movie.”
