A short film directed by hallyu star Jang Geun-suk (“Pretty Man”) topped the weekly film section of the Oricon Chart, Japan’s biggest music and entertainment ranking list, said PR agency Y Tree Media on March 25.

Titled “CAMP,” the 38-minute movie captures events that occur during Jang’s attempts to film wild animals in the Jejudo Island mountains as a documentary director.

The actor-singer participated in the planning and directing stages in collaboration with director Yoon Hong-seung (“The Target”), the PR agency said.

Jang is currently touring Japan for a concert series titled “The Chrishow 3.” His upcoming show will be on in Fukuoka from March 26-27.

  1. JKS is truly ahead of his time; movies watched through another medium. Soon, only a few people will go out of their way to watch movies in cinemas.

    Congratulations JKS!

    Thank you Tenshi.

  2. I´m so glad that Camp is a success, and that Korean media treats him fairly again. Camp is changing his image, I think. He can choose different types of movie roles now. So talented, smart, and always ready to surprise us with new ideas! And so handsome, of course. 🙂 He looks so wild and beautiful on a screen captures. Can´t wait to see Camp.

Thank you as always for sharing. 🙂

    • So proud of him. He is always innovating; truly an artist. Not only that, he up-skills; dynamic and has clear vision of what he wants to work on. Seldom can you see a celebrity who is like that; others are pouring all efforts in increasing their popularity than in artistic craft.

  3. I’m happy hearing that. I always believed Sukkie will be damn good as a director, too, so I’m glad he finally did it. Why not after all? I know his dream is to be an actor, but he can do fantastic films. I used to watch all his planning of his stages and ended up wondering myself: Why don’t he never try to direct himself? He is really good of making up stories and what’s interesting is he managed very well to make you feel like you’re in the story. He brings up emotions which I think is a must in this industry. Sukkie has everything he needs for directing too, so I hope I will see him doing more. So, congratulations, my sweet butterfly, it suits you very well! I love you! 🙂

    • He excels in story telling. Indeed he makes you feel as though you are part of the story rather than a third person watching. He should make his own movies/dramas/short films…such a talent.

No doubt that he will excel in every thing he wants to do because of his passion and desire to achieve it. Directing is another stage for him to achieve his goal.
