SEOUL, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) — Actor Jang Keun-suk and his official fan club, Cri J, made a generous donation of 117 million won to child care facilities and other charitable causes in celebration of Jang’s birthday.
According to his agency, Craft42 Entertainment, on the 2nd, Jang and Cri J hosted the ‘Jang Keun-suk Birthday Commemorative Charity Photo Exhibition,’ with all proceeds from the event being donated. The exhibition was held at a gallery in Gangnam, Seoul, on the 3rd and 4th of last month, raising a total of 117 million won, including a 10 million won donation from Jang Keun-suk himself.
The ‘Jang Keun-suk Birthday Commemorative Charity Photo Exhibition’ began as a celebration of his 20th debut anniversary and has continued for 12 years. According to the agency, the cumulative donation amount from Jang Keun-suk and Cri J has reached 1.307 billion won.
The proceeds were donated to various organizations, including Namsanwon (a child care facility), Aesindongsan (support for stray dog food), Snail of Love (surgeries for hearing-impaired children), Damwoohoe (surgeries for patients with biliary atresia), Jumong Rehabilitation Center (a residential facility for children with cerebral palsy and physical disabilities), and Bonte Museum.
Jang Keun-suk expressed his gratitude, saying, “I am proud to carry out such meaningful sharing with my fan club. I hope this will provide great comfort and encouragement to many who are going through difficult and exhausting times.”
