16 Dec – According to KBS news, KBS will air a New Year feature “Star Documentary – Centre of New Hallyu Centre, I am Jang Keun Suk” on 1 January 2012 at 9.35 pm Korean time.

This documentary will introduce Hallyu star Jang Keun Suk during his Japan concert tour. KBS said, “The documentary captures actor Jang Keun Suk who has created Hallyu history after Bae Yong-joon, and his real-life stories such as the process of his transition from childhood actor to Hallyu star, the secret of his success in Japan and the 25 year-old youth JKS behind the stage.”

The documentary shows JKS who went through a 10-hour marathon rehearsal in Japan and his tremendous energy exhaustion as shown by JKS drinking 30 bottles of mineral water in one night, his fighting spirit to continue the performance even if he had to resort to IV drip due to exhaustion, the behind-the-stage moments full of tension and urgency that are so different from the glamour of the stage – real life stories about JKS’ success and failure.

It also includes JKS’ recent situation as seen at the filming scene of Korean drama “Love Rain”, as his return to a normal 20-something youth JKS and his days at school as well as scenes from his daily life.

  1. Wow… Thanks! I wish I could see this. Hopefully all of you in Asia will be able to see some of this documentary. Is this airing only in Japan or will it be throughout the region. Really need to do something about this whole continent and crossing an ocean LOL

      • That would be great. I just typed out this long message (see below) about wishing there was something anything.. anything at all in my area of the US that broadcasted from Korea LOL

    • Can’t we get a live streaming on the net ? I have watched the Guru show live , even though I couldn’t understand a thing I still had so much fun watching his expressions! The laughs the smiles the shuffling and all the “What the heck” moments between him and MC Kang.
Please if anyone knows how to get a live streaming please share. Also the same for the Fuji-TV documentary.
Oh , I have just remembered the Tokyo Dome live at one of the Japanese stations? When was that again?

    • I’m waiting for my cable network to actually carry anything Korean even MBC America. There are a few cable channels that carry Asian media but its the entire continent and different countries have different time slots which is mostly news. Closest thing I came to any television was on my vacation trip in California last month. The hotel I stayed in near Los Angeles carried two channels and after 8pm they had Korean broadcasting. First it was talk shows (no english subs) but they must have been old because I actually recognized some of the people from dramas and then later they broadcast some dramas. One was showing repeats of Spy Myung Wol and the other one was showing Warrior Baek somthingorother. But the channels shared with Japanese and Chinese programming. Still, wish there were cable networks in my area that carried anything Korean.

      • Andrea , you don’t have KBS? We have an Arabic version of KBS. Still not fresh news but it’s something we can watch with Arabic subs.

  8. Congratulations, Sukkie. You are making a big name for yourself. You are now gathering the fruits of your hard labor.

2 famous quotes from Orison Swett Marden (founder of Success Magazine) remind me of you because you are a perfect example:
    * All who have accomplished great things have had a great aim, have fixed their gaze on a goal which was high, one which sometimes seemed impossible.

    * A strong, successful man is not the victim of his environment. He creates favorable conditions. His own inherent force and energy compel things to turn out as he desires.

You definitely deserve that award, and we are very proud of you.

    • Woww… April-sky. Thanks for posting these phrases. I think his unfailing goals and dreams are one of his charms. Many people think that he’s boasting things out of proportion. But to Eels, those goals and dreams and the ways that he works hard to achieve them are inspirited and admired by all. As Sukkie stated himself that he cannot be described in one single sentence of what or who he is. Well !! These two phrases do descript our Prince perfectly.

    • Inanna, some Korean TV station provides their program live on the Internet. I haven’t tried yet, but I think you can watch them after registration. Read the information I posted above and try it! There is no English subtitle though.
