Jang Geun Suk was the latest celebrity to run with the Olympic torch as a promotional ambassador for the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
On January 29, the torch relay continued in Chuncheon, the capital city of Gangwon Province. The event started in the early hours of the day and Jang Geun Suk was the last runner of the day.

According to the official Twitter account for the PyeongChang Olympics, the livestream of the torch relay cut off when it was Jang Geun Suk’s turn due to many fans who tuned in to watch the star. The account uploaded a video of Jang Geun Suk participating in the torch relay surrounded by fans, residents, and security guards.

Jang Geun Suk also posted a selfie of himself dressed in the torchbearer uniform and thanked his fans for joining him. He wrote, “Out of all of the days, it was such a cold day. I will not forget those the Jang Uhs [fans] who came and waited for a long time to cheer for me. Thank you. But this hat…it’s not easy [to pull off]…Let’s go!!!!”
Jang Geun Suk has been actively promoting the Games as the officially appointed promotional ambassador of the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, PyeongChang Paralympics, and Gangwon Province. The 2018 PyeongChang Olympics will begin on February 9 and end on February 25.
